JobEase is a job searching and resume-building platform built for real people — whether you're a fresh graduate, a career switcher, or someone coming back to work after a break. It combines smart job discovery, an Al-powered resume builder, and application tracking into one seamless, supportive experience.
Problem Statement
Finding a job should feel hopeful, not hopeless. But for most people, job hunting is filled with confusion, anxiety, and too many open tabs. From unclear job listings to writing the perfect resume to never hearing back after applying — the process can feel cold and frustrating.
I wanted to solve this by designing a platform that doesn’t just work, it understands the person using it.
This project wasn’t just about creating features, it was about easing the emotional burden of job hunting for someone. Each step in the process was guided by empathy, insight, and a desire to bring clarity where there was confusion.
Empathise & Discover:
To uncover real needs, I conducted surveys with 10 job seekers actively navigating the early stages of their careers. Their responses painted a clear picture of what the job search feels like today — overwhelming platforms, resume uncertainty, and the emotional toll of hearing nothing back.
To validate these insights, I complemented the primary research with secondary findings from LinkedIn, Glassdoor, and Jobvite. This helped highlight key challenges like ATS confusion, scattered job management, and a lack of motivational support — giving the problem both scale and depth.
Define:
With the insights in place, I mapped the entire job-seeking journey — from the moment someone begins looking to the point where they consider giving up or changing direction. Through this, I identified three high-impact problem areas:
Resume writing stress: Uncertainty around what to write, how to tailor it, and whether it’ll be effective.
Scattered job search: Difficulty managing applications across multiple platforms with no central system.
Lack of emotional support: Feeling lost and unmotivated, especially during the silent waiting periods after applying.
These challenges were then distilled into actionable problem statements to guide the design process.
Ideate & Design:
I brainstormed and sketched early concepts that directly addressed the pain points. The solution began to take shape around three core ideas:
An AI-powered resume builder that provides guided, role-specific prompts.
A central job dashboard to organize saved and applied jobs.
A smart application tracker to simplify follow-ups and bring peace of mind.
Design-wise, I focused on simplicity and empathy. Clean layouts, supportive microcopy, and helpful suggestions that reduce mental load and decision fatigue.
Prototype & Test:
I developed a high-fidelity prototype and tested it with users who matched the target audience. Based on their feedback, I made key refinements:
Streamlined resume creation into fewer steps.
Added motivational nudges and encouraging feedback loops.
Integrated contextual tips and reminders throughout the journey.
The final experience aimed to do more than just help users apply for jobs. It was designed to guide, reassure, and empower them through each step of the process.

Stay motivated with friendly nudges like "You've applied to 3 jobs today — great progress!" Get smart suggestions based on your activity, like ways to improve your resume for a specific role. Plus, connect with others and learn from real recruiters in the community Q&A section.
Here, the outcomes and achievements of the project are highlighted, including user feedback, adoption rates, and industry recognition.
Increased Efficiency
Users found the resume-building process much faster and easier. The AI suggestions helped reduce guesswork and decision fatigue, allowing them to focus more on applying to jobs rather than formatting documents.
Better Organization:
The job tracker and save-for-later features brought structure to what was earlier a chaotic process. Users appreciated having everything in one place — from saved jobs to application statuses — which helped them stay on top of deadlines and follow-ups.
Improved Clarity & Confidence:
The guided approach and motivational copy made users feel more supported throughout their job search. Many shared that the experience felt reassuring, especially during moments of self-doubt or career transitions.
